Enjoy a 4 day, 3 night backcountry hiking excursion
in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. This tour, suitable for beginning
and intermediate hikers, offers interpretive moments and photographic
opportunities through easy rolling terrain along the Great Canadian
Rockies.
ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrive at the Black Cat Guest Ranch after lunch for transportation
to Rocky Mountain Escape.
Settle in to your private log cabin, with the option of taking
a stroll along Munn Creek.
Dinner, followed by an evening campfire featuring local history
and legends.
Overnight accommodation at the 'Escape.
Day 2 -
Breakfast at the 'Escape
Pack up personal belongings for transportation to West Range. Hike
8 km (5 km of gradual climb from the Wild Hay River trailhead,
3 km of gentle downhill to flat terrain) to the lunch site.
Trail lunch, followed by a 7 km hike (gentle downhill to flat terrain)
to the West Range cabins.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at West Range.
Day 3 -
Breakfast at West Range
Pack up personal belongings for transportation to the Black Cat
Guest Ranch.
Hike 7 km (gentle downhill and flat terrain) to a scenic lunch
site along Solomon Creek.
Trail lunch, followed by a 5 km hike to the Black Cat.
Dinner and overnight accommodation at the Black Cat, with afternoon/evening
options of enjoying an outdoor hot tub or game room.
Day
4 -
Breakfast at the Black Cat,
followed by a leisurely departure before noon.
